Clear Creek Golf Club

 

This championship golf club offers 18 holes of pure, unadulterated golfing fun. As a links-style course, it is one of the more popular courses in the Houston area. Challenging sand bunkers come into play on 16 of the holes, and water serves up an added challenge on six holes. It is a fun layout with enough to satisfy and challenge all skill levels. There’s also a complete practice range, a putting green, a pro shop and snack bar.

 

Wildcat Golf Club

 

With two main 18-hole courses to choose from (the Highlands and the Lakes course), this golf club is certain to satisfy most any golfer, experienced or novice. The Highlands is a classic links course, where the Lakes course has some nice elevation changes with quite a few water features. But no matter which course you choose, you’ll enjoy a nice view of the Houston city skyline.

 

Timber Creek Golf Club

 

Located near Friendswood, Texas is 9-hole public course that features terrific views and challenging play for all skill levels. Well-groomed greens and fairways keep Timber Creek difficult, yet friendly, where the staff can offer tips and tricks to ensure you play your best round. Designed by Jay Riviere, it also features 4 sets of tees depending on your skill level. The greens have fresh Bermuda grass in an inviting course layout.

 

Memorial Park Golf Course

 

First built in 1936, this golf course has a storied past. It was home to the Houston Open during the 50s and 60s, where golf greats such as Jack Niklaus and Arnold Palmer have played. Then in 1995, it was restored to be made even better, and it is in fact one of the best municipal golf courses in America. It is well lit with not too many water hazards, with wide driving ranges for less experienced players. However, all skills levels will be challenged at this course.

 

Golfcrest Country Club

 

This steeped-in-tradition Golfcrest Country club is located right in Pearland and offers 18-holes of wonderful golfing enjoyment, with its sandy loam soil creating nice contours on the fairways and elevated greens. There is also a smattering of strategically placed lakes and ponds to add a nice challenge to anyone’s game. It is a member-only course, with non-members tournaments happening every so often.

 

Pearland Golf Club

 

Located right in Pearland, this golf club was designed to accommodate all skill levels with its 18-holes of pure golfing pleasure and gives the golf lover a variety of ways to challenge them to perfect their golf swing.

 

Southwyck Golf Club

 

This is an 18-hole, link-style course in Pearland that meanders through the Silverlake subdivision. On the front nine, it is true links-style fun where 4 holes point away from the clubhouse typically into the wind, while the next five holes turn back and are typically downwind. The Champion Bermuda greens are called ‘the bent grass of the south’ and the well-manicured and maintained course is one of the finest in the Houston area. With 4 sets of tees and only two water hazards to contend with, this is perfect for all skill levels.
