Buffalo Bayou Park | Pearland RV Park

Buffalo Bayou Park

While the weather in Texas rarely gets too cold, we do have a winter. However, we’re working our way out of winter and into spring so more outdoor activities start to become available. That’s great for those of us who don’t like being stuck inside and really want to get out there and be a part of nature. So, stretch your legs by visiting Buffalo Bayou Park near our Pearland RV Park.

Buffalo Bayou Park

So, don’t get too confused, Buffalo Bayou is a large stretch of waterway that works its way through the Houston area. What we’re specifically referring to is the part of Buffalo Bayou from Sheperd Drive to Sabine Street. Not too long ago they put in place a huge restoration of the area that included updating the trails and bringing back some of the natural landscapes.

What to Do in Buffalo Bayou

There are all sorts of things you can do while you’re in the Buffalo Bayou Park. There’s a skateboarding park, a dog park, and a cool playground and spacious picnic pavilion. You can also see the Water Works building, which was made from a four-acre abandoned water system.

That building is now used for events and performances. Another neat thing to see is the Cistern, the first underground drinking water reservoir for Houston. It has been repurposed into a public space. And if you want to take pictures of the Houston skyline for memories later, this is the place to do it!
