With that in mind let’s talk about some awesome places you can visit while you’re in the Houston area.
Houston Area Beaches, Galveston Island State Park
If you’re looking for a place where you can visit the Houston area beaches, but also get a great look at some of the amazing wildlife that calls this area home, you can’t go wrong hitting up Galveston Island State Park. This area encompasses 2,000 acres of wetlands, dunes, and ponds. Use the trails to your advantage to get a better look at the wildlife and beautiful scenery.
Like Galveston Island State Park, this beach offers you the opportunity to see and explore the natural world while you’re at the beach. It features miles of undeveloped shoreline including coastal marshes and bays.
For a more traditional beach experience, you can enjoy the largest beach in Texas at East Beach, located on the eastern edge of Galveston Island. Here you can walk the boardwalk and check out the pavilion.
You’ll also be able to hear some great live music at the stage located there. A word of warning, it is one of the busiest beaches in the area so depending on the time of day and season you might be competing for space to spread out.
