It’s a Golfer’s Dream

Southwyck Golf Club is also open to the public and offers some of the finest golf in the Houston metropolitan area. Its 18-hole link-style course winds through the gorgeous Silverlake community. Designed with the player in mind, there are elements to challenge all playing levels.

If you are more of a casual disc golfer, you may want to try your hand at the Shadow Creek Ranch Disc Golf course. There are also some nice walking trails through pretty landscape. Located at S Clear Lake Loop.

 

Bask in the Wetlands

The John Hargrove Environmental Complex & Wetlands is the place to go for nature lovers and is the crown jewel of outdoor Pearland, Texas. There is fantastically diverse bird-watching opportunities here, and just July through September, you will find a nice abundance of coastal birds as they migrate through the area.

Take advantage of Pearland’s first edible trail – a nature trail dotted with fruit trees where visitors are allowed to sample produce right from the source (in season).

 

First United Methodist Church

Dating back to 1898, this is a delightful piece of Pearland’s history. The original structure was damaged first by fire and then by a hurricane in the early 20th century. Today’s rebuilt structure was completed in 1917 and has a history all its own. Services are held throughout the week, with a congregation of over 2,000 members.

 

Time for Some BBQ

According to the Food Network, Killen’s Barbecue in Pearland cooks up the 2nd best brisket in all of the U.S. Get there early, as there will likely be a line! In addition to mouth-watering brisket, they offer sumptuous sausage, ribs, chicken, and more, smoked to perfection.
