John Hargrove Environmental Complex Wetlands and Nature Trails

Nature at the Parks

That’s what is great about travelling around the country. When you stay at Pearland RV Park, you get a chance to see real nature trails in Houston and enjoy that part of the world that we were created to be a part of.

Wetlands

A great place to get in tune with nature is to spend some time at the local parks. A great one to visit is the one near the John Hargrove Environmental Complex. You’ll find it over on Magnolia Street, just about 4 miles from here.

During the cooler months, the big draw is the American White Pelicans as they escape the cold weather up north. Unfortunately, it’ll be a few months before they start making their way back. Don’t worry though, many of the coastal birds spend time here from July to September. You can find out more about the local flora and fauna by visiting the environmental complex itself.

Nature Trails in Houston

Another great aspect of the Complex is the mile-long trail they recently put in. While you’re taking a leisurely stroll, you can see some of the beauty of nature. If you’re lucky, you may see a bald eagle as they’re known to hunt in the waters there.

After you’ve gotten your fill of bird watching, you can go to the edible fruit trail. This is a sidewalk lined with fruit producing trees like apples, grapes, and pomegranates. You’re quite welcome to pick some fruit and enjoy a snack.
